Collocation

 

Group of words that are expected to be together is called collocations. Word partnerships or words that are commonly used together by native speakers are known as collocations. Learning collocation is an important part of learning the vocabulary of a language.

 

A collocation is concerned with the way words occur together often in naturally or unpredictable ways. 

Some  of them are;

* Salient features

* Short speech 

* Expensive hotel

* Talkative person

* befitting replay

* Do exercise

* Strong Argument

* Take a risk

* Formidable opponent

* Receive a discount

* Ancient monuments

* Utterly confused

* In great detail

Words occurring together in a language is an important part of speaking and writing fluently. To able to produce 'native like' speech, you have to know which words work together well.
